Let's come up with a plan

The following steps will take place:

  • Step 1: Establishing a formal policy across our organization to integrate this extended holiday break.
  • Step 2: A full policy document from Human Resources will present and communicate information on leave details, covering timelines, eligibility requirements, and key employee allowances.
  • Step 3: The employee handbook will integrate this policy, and communication of it will take place in advance of the holiday season for all staff members.
  • Step 4: In an effort to keep business continuity, a phased approach to complete operations ahead of the break and then reactivate them after it.
  • Step 5: Department heads will be in charge of constructing thorough transition plans that cover main tasks to complete prior to the break and the priorities for the return to work.

As we get ready for the long break:

  • We will strengthen our project management approaches to fit the time off. To account for the holiday break, project timelines and deadlines will receive adjustments, alongside buffer time to stop last-minute surges or employees feeling undue stress.[1]
  • We will deploy a system for the whole firm to manage out-of-office messages and assign urgent items to the correct contacts throughout the break.

In response to possible issues that clients or partners might have:

  • Our marketing and communications team will create a proactive outreach strategy. Part of our method will be to inform important stakeholders about our holiday schedule prior to it starting and to offer more contact information for critical cases.
  • We will examine the chance to team up with temporary staffing agencies to supervise any important tasks that should stay functional during the vacation.
